Orphan Aid by Zholdas

Denholm Zholdas is helping to improve the quality of life for orphans in Kazakhstan.

For the past four years, it has been amongst a group of companies sponsoring the Burling Orphanage.

The companies are members of the Karachaganak Children's Welfare Committee, and have been raising funds to enable the orphanage to establish new recreational facilities, replace its water supply piping and provide new toilet and shower facilities.

The orphanage is home to 73 children, and in June a party was held to mark the opening of its newly-completed play area.

It was a fun packed day for all involved.  The children performed a concert, after which they took part in egg and spoon races, sack races and three legged races, while the adults rounded off the day by cooking shashlyk (kebabs) for all to enjoy.
