Major Contract for DZ - Great News and High Expectations

Denholm Zholdas has been awarded a U$10m contract by the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating Company.

The one-year shutdown contract will inolve up to 600 Kazakh locals running 24-hour-a-day operation in the northwest region of Kazakhstan.

Covering an area of more than 280 square kilometres, Karachaganak is one of the world's largest oil and gas condensate fields.

It holds more than 1,200 million tonnes of oil and condensate, and over 1.35 trillion cubic metres of gas.

The development of the field is being overseen by four international partners - British company BG Group and Eni of Italy, each with 32.5 per cent interest; Chevron of the USA, with 20 per cent; and LUKOIL of Russia, with 15 per cent.  They came together to form Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO), which will operate Karachaganak facilities through to 2038.
